Plot -
A New Mutants team from the past (Magik, Warlock, Cypher, Cannonball, Magma, Mirage,
Sunspot, and Wolfsbane), the current Karma, and the villain Mikhail Rasputin, hold their
breath while Mikhail tries to remove the Legacy VIrus from Magik. However, something's
wrong, and the effect backfires on Magik. The New Mutants overt disaster, but Wolfsbane
still has doubts about Mikhail's intentions. Meanwhile, in a holding cell in the Xavier
mansion, the current day incarnations of the New Mutants (Cannonball, Moonstar, Sunspot,
Wolfsbane, and Douglock) prepare to save Magik from her insane brother. Back in the
med-lab, Mikhail reports that Magik's operation was a sucess, but when Cypher looks over
the data, he finds that the operation was a sucess, however, the operation did not purge
Magik of the virus, but instead, transfered it from Mikhail to Magik! Looking for more
data, Cypher runs across his personal file, only to learn in the future, he's dead! Back
at the holding cell, the younger Wolfsbane tries to free the older kids, but Mikhail stops
her. However, the older New Mutants figure it out, and free themselves anyway. The team
attacks, but even with all their power, Mikhail proves too much. It is not until the
younger New Mutants arrive, and Magik confronts her brother about infecting her with the
virus. Mikhail escapes, leaving Magik to wonder about her fate. The two groups gather to
say good-bye, and Karma, using her newly devloped psi-powers, erases the kids' memories,
to spare them pain. The older team reflects on their past, and to the future still
unforetold. |
