Plot -
Back in the past, the New Mutants, then made up of Cannonball, Mirage, Wolfsbane, Sunspot,
Warlock, and Magik, are practicing in the Danger Room when something goes wrong. Magik is
confronted by a mysterious vision, and then collaspes. Calling off the practice session,
the New Mutants ran to her side, including Cypher and Kitty Pryde, who were running the
program. Unable to determine where the visage came from, Magik runs off her herself. She
is confronted by her Kitty, her best friend, who tries to tell her everything will be OK.
Soon afterward, the New Mutants play a game of truth or dare when the lights go out during
a thunderstorm. Its a playful game, until Sunspot dares Magik to confront her future self.
Taking the dare, Magik teleports the entire team into the future. In the present, the
former New Mutants, now members of the X-Men, X-Force, and Excalibur, Cannonball, Sunspot,
Moonstar (the former Mirage), and Karma await Wolfsbane's plane. However, when she
arrives, she does her new love, Douglock. The group returns to the mansion, only to find
an intruder. Wolfsbane goes to investigate, only to be confronted by her past self. Taken
aback by the New Mutants, Wolfsbane finds herself confronted by Cypher, the boy that
sacrificed his life to save hers. However, the present heroes soon discover this isn't a
trick, its a part of Magik's plan. However, when Douglock accidently reveals that Magik is
doomed to die, the sorceress teleports away, right into the hands of her not-so-sane
brother, Mikhail! |
