Plot -
Emma and Tom Corsi take the kids on a day trip to New York to get their minds off the recent events in their lives. But while at a museum, Leech and Artie, who are using their image inducers, decide to leave. They change their appearance and disappear before Emma even realizes they're gone. Emma splits them up and ships them out to search for the kids. Chamber and Husk are forced together, and they argue, trying to figure what happened to their former love. Meanwhile, Synch and Skin run into the She-Hulk and Synch gets the famous Avengers's signature green kiss on his cheek. Not far away, Artie and Leech try to find their friend, Franklin Richards, but he is not home. Also, Tom finally confronts Emma about their mingled past. He tells her about how her former student, the crazed Empath, used his powers to emotional crush Tom and his friend, Sharon, under Emma's direction. Emma tells him about how sorry she is and understands if her can never really trust her. On a nearby construction site, Leech and Arite witness a fight between the Sandman and Spider-Man and lend a hand by confusing Sandman. They use the inducers to generate multiple images of Spider-Man, giving Spider-Man the opening to win. A couple blocks away, Skin and Synch try to get a cab, but they are cut off by some other kids. But little do they know that the other kids are really Turbo, Speedball, Bolt, and Nova of the New Warriors! Husk and Chamber finally find Artie and Leech, but because the boys have take the forms of two of the Backstreet Boys, Chamber and Husk are run over by a storm of teenage girls. Next, Artie and Leech take on the appearance of the Invisible Woman and Mr. Fantastic and travel to the Avengers Mansion. There, they become Thor and Captain America. They get inside the grounds, but the mansion's defenses capture them. The real Cap and Thor, plus Justice, Firestar, and Jarvis, appear asking the boys who they really are. They show themselves and tell them that Emma is their teacher. Gen X finally finds them, and the team meets up at the mansion. Emma berates the children, but Firestar pulls her aside. They talk about their past together, how Emma had tried to turn Firestar into a killer. Emma apologizes, and Firestar warns her that she ever finds out Emma hurts another child, she will personally attack her and bring the Avengers with her. The kids finally head home, but next before Synch finally gets a glimpse of personal hero: the Black Panther!
