Plot -
On Muir Island, the team gets a welcome day off. Pete Wisdom is still recovering from his
injuries at the hands of Colossus. Nightcrawler, Meggan, and Wolfsbane are enjoying
the morning air, while Shadowcat and Moria take care of Pete. Nightcrawler leaves to make
a phone call, and Pete and Moria go run some more tests, leaving the girls alone.
Wolfsbane spots something strange on the mainland, so Meggan throws her elemental sight
across the water. She senses turmoil and pain, so the trio investigates. They find a young
girl named Bridgit Shane, a young mutant with the power over fire. Bridgit tells her story
of how the reverend kidnapped her and was planning to kill her, so she ran away. Wolfsbane
recognizes the story as her own: Reverend Craig did the same thing to her. Wolfsbane,
Meggan, and Shadowcat go to Kinross, where Wolfsbane grew up, to confront the evil priest.
Wolfsbane enters the church and directly confronts the man that raised her until mutant
gifts appeared, a man that might even be her father. She runs him through with her
powerful words, showing him the pain he's caused. She leaves the battered, evil man
behind, knowing she has won the battle for her past. |
