The year is 2013, and the world as Excalibur knew it is gone. Most of the team is dead,
and the remnants of the team are part of a revolutionary army that is waiting to stop
Black Air, who is slowly killing everyone in Britain. Wolfsbane, who was once the team's
most compassionate member, is now dulled and emotionless. Psylocke, Captain Britain's
sister and former X-Men, arrives to talk to Wolfsbane. Psylocke's life was saved because
she was in Britain when the Americas were destroyed. A new member, a young woman called
Tangerine, appears, telling the two that "their master" is waiting. On the way,
they meet up with Meggan and Captain Britain himself. They enter their master's chamber.
Their master is former Excalibur member and former Black Air agent Pete Wisdom, who lost
the majority of his family and friends, and the use of his legs, to the Black AIr
takeover. At his side, is the woman once called Xi'an Coy Mahn, now known simply as Karma.
Wisdom tells the team that they have finally found Douglock, and that they are going after
him. They move in to the labratory where Douglock's signature was found, but encounter
that the entire complex is made of techno-organics, just like Douglock. The walls
transform into techno-organic Brood aliens, cutting off their path. The small team of
heroes make their way through the savage beasts, and find a door blocked by a neural lock.
Psylocke slams her psychic knife into it and it dies. The door slides open to reveal the
remnates of Douglock: he was used to make Black Air unstoppable. The guards arrive behind
the team, and then its over. In the present day, Captain Britain wakes up, knowing that
this was not simply a dream, but a forecasting of a terrible future. |
