Aladaar grew into a young man and soon his mind turned away from the simple life at home and towards what wonders the world might hold.  He joined the imperial army and soon won a reputation in his unit as a brave and noble warrior.  During his enlistment the dark creatures beyond the walls managed to dig a tunnel under the walls and many had come across before the tunnel was finally found and collapsed.  Aladaar took his place in the many skirmishes and fights that resulted from the brief breach, and after his enlistment returned home to become a fisherman like his father.

But when he got there he found his family slaughtered and strung from the wash line to be eaten by the gorecrows.  He staggered to his knees and went numb from the sight.  His whole world shattered and he couldn't seem to get a grip on what was happening, he felt as though the world were turning and if he didn't stay very low it would hurl him off.   He then heard the voice.  Crying.  He followed the sound into the house, under his floor into the cellar.  In an old box as large as a man he heard the crying.  He opened the box and found it.  A large curved man sized shield with an image of a sad eyed veiled woman on it.  He looked into the woman's eyes and shook his head softly.  He picked it up and walked back upstairs pausing to pick up and attach the gray cape he had left in his room years ago.  He laid his family in their beds, whispered a prayer to the Aegis and set the torch to his home.

He spent the next 15 years wandering the earth and trying to make a difference.  He gained the sword Wyrmbane Serra Gradese from Daobin by completing his ten quests.   He received Ferats Ring from the Stormcliff Thieves Guild by rescuing a young girl they had held captive by impersonating their leader for almost 7 months before tricking the entire gang into a prison.  They escaped almost instantly and tracked Aladaar down.  Instead of being angry, when the guild found him they clasped his hand and congratulated him on his ruse.  They couldn't be mad, they said, any man who can trick a man who lives by his wits is a man they appreciate.  They gave him the ring as a bit of a joke, having identified the stone in it as a fake diamond but never realizing that it was Ferats Ring..

He found Neleas Ring in the ashes of his parents home when he went back to see it on the tenth anniversary of his parents death.  He won Theylissias Spirit Armor when he was lost in the desert.  He found an old man with a bowl of water, he asked the man for some but the man just stared at him.  He asked again but the man just stared at him.  So Aladaar sat up and stared back.  Day and night, night and day, the two stared.  After days uncounted without food or water the old man finally cracked a smile.  "You have will!"  he laughed and gave him the bowl, Aladaar gulped it down greedily and when he looked up the man was gone.  In his place was the armor.
