Nelea was a slave.
She was born a slave and knew she would die a slave. She was a lovely girl
born into a harsh world, and every day seemed to be a new torture. No matter how
hard she was beaten, or how much she was punished she never cried out, never uttered a
moan of pain. She kept faith with her ancestors and her self that some day this
suffering would end. Everyday she lived from one morning to the next, every night praying silently to the small alter she had next the the rags she slept upon. She was a pure girl, pure of heart and faith, even after they raped her, she was no less pure for it. When they beat her to death, she still didn't cry out, and as they left her body there on the road, she never uttered a sound. The rain fell upon her as the spirits of her ancestors and angels came and picked up her body. And they cried, cried for the one person ever born who was too pure of spirit and mind for this world, and had finally come to where she had belonged all the time. As the tears of the angels stuck the ground they turned hard and blue, yet were unlike any other gemstone seen, and the took their new sister with them to the heavens. Gems known as 'Neleas Tears' can only be found in one place in all of the world, and the is the Field of Fallen Stars. Neleas Tears are small smooth, deep to light blue and completely unbreakable. They appear to have a drop of clear liquid inside of them. Even though Neleas Tears are unbreakable they are never used in armors or defenses due to their excessive cost, but also due to the odd fact that any time a gem is set into a weapon or armor it falls out in a matter of hours. During the slaughter of innocents at the hands of the forces of darkness in the third era, when people were searching through the rubble of devastated towns where their were no others survivors, at times people would come across a small child, seemingly untouched by that which had decimated their town, shivering and hiding in a closet and clutching a Neleas Tear. Neleas Ring is a simple band of iron and silver with a small blue 'Neleas Tear' gem in the center. It may only be worn by one who is pure of heart or it will fall off of that person finger and soon be lost to them forever. The wearer of Neleas Ring can never be hurt by any torture, insult, or defaming act. No horrible thing can affect them, and they become immune to the effects of fear and any innate abilities of a creature of evil. It is not known where Neleas Ring is now entombed as it was hidden by the thirteen fates after the death of Aladaar. |
