an introduction
The X Files,
the show that changed television, premiered on September 10th 1993. It
was to be the show that change the way an entire generation looked at science-fiction
- this was no show set millions of miles into space or years into the future,
The X Files was, and still is, now. A show that a worldwide audience of
billions can connect to, however weird the tales are.
The popularity
of The X Files is almost as supernatural as the weird stories it spins
each week.
From a
relatively small audience, the show has grown and grown into a cultural
phenomenon. Examining what at first looked to be a single-layered 'aliens
and abductions' story, it has evolved into a complex, ongoing mythology
of the supernatural, but also of suspense, intrigue, action, romance and
of course, those pesky aliens.
With the
omnipresent promise - or warning - that the Truth Is Out There, X-Philes
all over the world tune in to see the latest antics of FBI Agents Mulder
and Scully, the paranoid but ace investigator and his rather more skeptic
partner, assigned to thrown him off the scent of a deeper, more deadly
truth, one that would ultimately affect every person on the planet.
How will
it all end? Or, in a world where more questions are set than answered,
will it ever end? Seven seasons, a best-selling feature film and a promising
movie series ahead, it seems The X Files really has changed a generation
sees television, and in particular science fiction.
The Project
is here to se to the needs of the online X-Phile. The X Files has always
been noted as the first show to be made hugely popular - not by word of
mouth, but by word of mouse. The Internet leapt into the public eye at
the same time as The X Files did, and so it was only a matter of time before
the two fused together.
Our slogan
is The Ultimate X-Files Resource,
