Yes, it's true!
The wait is finally over - the winners of FanFic 2000 have been decided!

After an extremely strenuous six-months on behalf of the judging team, our six stunning winners have finally been chosen by you, the Internet X-Files fans.

Out of 100+ amazing submissions, our three judges chose their ten favourites.
The ten were then thrown into the wilds of the Internet and into the hands of Fanfic-hungry fans to vote for their most enjoyable story.
In all, our contest pages had an amazing 8,000+ hits in just six months!! A staggering figure for any website.

208 of you voted, and the decision was close.
But a main winner has been chosen, as well as five other winners who all receive fantastic prizes.
As for the other four stories who did not quite make it into the winning category, a huge thank you for taking part, and as I have said, votes were close and there was no more than 20 votes between the 6th and 10th place finalists.

And so, on with the proceedings.
I am proud to announce that the winner of FanFic 2000 was...

Congratulations to all of our winners on some truly great stories.
We will e-mail you shortly to arrange the distribution of prizes. If you don't hear from me before the end of january, e-mail me here.

If we have learned anything from FanFic 2000, it is that there are some great writers out there. I hope this contest has given people the chance to write their own stories, whether for the first time or even if you are an experienced writer.
Please, just because the contest is over, don't stop now! And even if you did not win here, post your fanfic on mailing lists, message boards, send it to websites, get it noticed. I only wish I was able to give everyone a prize and publish every story!

Thanks to everyone who entered and made it such a success. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

And finally, I would like to give the BIGGEST THANKS to Hillary, our mailing list manager, and her friend Jessica, our two fabulous US judges who spent literally hours reading your stories and deciding on the winners. Also extra special thanks to Hillary, whose home is acting a temporarily post office for your prizes!
Thanks both, and if you would like to pass on your thanks to Jessica and Hillary, please drop Hillary a  note here and she will read it and pass it on.

Thanks, and congratulations to our winners!

    Keep on writing!
