The Internet
is a big ol' place - thanks for stopping by! However, this site itself
is fairly large and sometimes I even get lost!
Hopefully
this section will help answer some if your questions.
The Project
began in 1998 as a little project by me, Chris. However it has evolved
more and more since then and after numerous tries at 'new looks' I think
(!) I've finally settled on the one you see here. I think the navigation
bar along the side of the screen is a huge improvement on the old design.
This is also much more bold, compact and fits the look of the show very
well, IMHO!
From a few
simple pages back then, the site has developed and we now have a load of
great and even some unique features.
Even in the
last few months we've added our own online charity store and interactive
mailing list.
By the end
of summer 2000 all of the pages on site should have this new look. By this
time I also aim to have completed our 'Ultimate Episode Guide' - a page
for every episode of every season with images, reviews, print ads, synopses
and cast lists.
I hope you
enjoy the site and find it easy and fun to use. I'm always on the look
out for your thoughts and opinions, good or bad (it's really important
you let me know your thoughts, so that I can change things as you suggest!).
Please send any comments to me at [email protected]
(or click here to open a
mailing box - that e-mail address has an underscore in it!).

Frequently
Asked Questions
Q: I've clicked
a link but it doesn't work, or it takes me to the wrong place. What should
I do?
A: It is VERY
important you take a minute to drop me an e-mail so I can fix it - I will
be EXTREMELY grateful! You can e-mail me here
or look for other 'Feedback' links.
Q: I've found
a page that is out of date and looks a bit different from the rest of the
site, or it doesn't have the link bar down the left side of the page...why?
A: The page
has not yet been updated to the new look of the site. All pages will be
completely re-made by the end of summer 2000. Otherwise, email.
Q: How can
I find out if the site has been updated?
A: The best
idea is to visit the site on a regular basis, probably every weekend, and
going to the Latest News page. Every update is sent direct to the mailing
list, so I would seriously suggest joining up!
Q: What is
the mailing list?
A: It's an
interactive group you can join for free to discuss X-Files episodes and
other topics, as well as receive spoilers and information on a regular
basis. The mailing list manager is Hillary, and the site is managed by
EGroups. It takes only a minute to join up, click here
to sign up for the list.
Q: The Project
Store - is it really safe to use? Will I get my stuff?!
A: Of Course!!
The store is operated by Amazon.co.uk, one of the biggest and most reliable
online stores in the world, who will ship to any country. We simply display
our favourite X-Files merchandise and earn a small fee for each product
sold, which we will use for webspace. There is a more detailed description
on the store
page. Not only that, but 5-15% of everything you pay in our store goes
DIRECTLY to charity.
Q: How does
that work then?
A: Well, The
Project has teamed up with amazon.co.uk to bring you the latest and greatest
XF stuff. In return for advertising their products, they send chacks to
'referrers' for a small percentage of everything sold through our page.
Together with great new site xfilesmerchandise.com, we combine totals and
send a cheque/check to charity!
Q: I would
like to link to The Project, or get my banner on the site. How?
A: Easy! And
thanks! We have a whole page explaining how - click
here to see it.
