Notice
On Friday, August 15th, the crew of the U.S.S. StarQuest
met at the home of Jon Litz.
From 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm, we conducted an uninterrupted,
fun, business meeting:
-
We discussed the status of Starfleet,
Region 2 and the ship.
-
That the new administration has almost caught up with everything.
-
How Region 2 is trying to stir up some spirit for the next
convention.
-
That the ship will remain with Starfleet as one of the oldest
ships in Region 2!
-
We discussed the upcoming Shatner convention.
-
Bill, Jane and Jon are definitely going, while Tasha and
I may be going.
-
We will be placing a ticket order this week
-
Driving up early Sat, going to Busch Gardens, staying overnight,
then seeing Shatner on Sunday
-
Note: Jon will be asking Mr. Shatner the combination of the
safe in episode 46
-
We also discussed our potential Region
2 involvement in the next VULKON.
-
Jon discussed updating the fleet promotional bulletin boards
that we used to maintain
-
The ships of Starfleet pin map of Region 2, the USA and the
World
-
The construction of the Region 2 picture board (our other
bulletin board)
-
We also discussed the Region 2 parties at the VULKON.
-
We then took some time to meet our
newest crew member, Omar Barsimantov...
-
We told Omar about personas, their basis and development.
-
We reminisced how Terry Christian met new crew members and
help them develop their personas.
-
We revealed to Omar each other's personas, with Jon and myself
going into detail (unfortunately).
-
We all learned a lot about Jon's android persona and its
development (I was surprised)
-
And I discussed my time shifting/quantum leaping persona.
(What a loony!)
-
Bill Litz briefly discussed his Vulcan heritage (a heritage
of "love"!),
-
Alan Ricotta touched on his "hidden names", and enlightened
us with cheese lore.
-
We finished off with a discussion about the stories that
Terry wrote that featured our personas.
-
Jon then led us through a review of
StarQuest Trivia (most of us didn't have a clue).
-
We decided to meet again, next Friday
8/22, at Jon's house.
Afterwards, those who stayed, played around a bit with each
other...
-
While Omar and Marco played chess,
-
Alan, Jon, and Bill Bloom played a Star Trek video game (the
Klingon won, boo),
-
while I watched (studied) both (Note: Thanks to Bill for
bringing the ST video game).
-
Then we changed up and Marco, Omar, Jon and I played the
ST video game (the Klingon lost, yea!),
while Alan and Bill relaxed.
The next meeting of the U.S.S. StarQuest will
be held at 8/22/97 at Jon's house, 6-?
Tasha will be in attendance at this weeks meeting,
so I need everyone to contribute even more to this meeting!
Bring your ideas, your stories, your opinions, your
articles, your concerns, your trivia, your clothes, your friends.
This ends my year as CO of the U.S.S. StarQuest,
so an election is due...
Since I was "appointed" CO by Starfleet last August/September,
it is good that we will "vote" for our CO for the
first time in over 3 years!
