The Race was the first film created by SGF. It is a historical movie more than a good one.
The Race setup SGF for us. We introduced almost all of our characters of SGF in this movie, without even noticing. If you look closesly, you can see a number of them sleeping or talking in the stands. Jabba the Hutt was the host of the race, and The Announcers soon became famous as well. James Wampa did too.
The two famous announcers have only made their way into two other films, but they are a good comedical team together. The smaller of the two is a yoda action figure, A.K.A. the "little buddy", and the big guy is a Basic-speaking Taun Taun. He constantly helps his little buddy, because his little buddy is constantly getting injured.
The Dinosaur Hunter is also blending with the crowd. Jekk Porkins, the winner of the Race, is also well, in The Race. There are countless more, but I'll stop here. (You can see the movie yourself once we get it on this site.)
Anywho, The Race is about, well, a race. It's set in the Star Wars galaxy, (as all of our movies are) and takes place on the desert planet of Tatooine. Hosted by Jabba the Hutt and announced by The Announcers, it is not a podrace, but a plain old race. It has two podracers in it, both of which crash, and the rest are all small ships and crafts that are fast enough to compete, such as a tie fighter pod, a speederbike & swoop, an airspeeder, a snowspeeder, some imperial crafts, a single pod cloud car, a more. All of the ships crash throughout the movie, and at the very end, the only remaining shift a big slow Y-Wing, piloted by none other than Jekk Porkins. He finally gets his ship to take off, and after 6 hours of flying, he finally finishes the short one-lap course. After everyone in the stands wakes up, he is presented his medal, or he would have been presented his medal is he wasn't to fat to squeeze out of his ship.
So, The Race is by far a big part of SGF's history. |
