ORIC

ATMOS Oric-1 was developen by Tangerine Computer Systems (U.K.) and launched at the beginning of 1983. It had either 16 or 48 KB RAM, and 6502A CPU. The model 48 was sold with FORTH language. Within the year, the original Oric was replaced by the Oric Atmos (on the picture), with improved kayboard, Basic and cassette loading. Latest model - Oric Stratos - was planed to replace Atmos, but Tangerine Computers was bought by a french company (1986) and Stratos was finally replaced by the Telestrat. It was designed especially for communications, and more precisely for be used with the Minitel (french videotext-like terminal).
