One of the most loved and respected Australian personalities Max gladly accepted the role of National Patron. His motto was simple: "if you can you must". In his role as Patron Max has had first hand experience with many of the children and speaks with heartfelt emotion at many ROMAC Conferences. We are delighted to have the support of this great Australian.

During a visit to Labasa, Fiji in 1985 Barrie saw the plight of young children who were dying because the necessary medical skills were unavailable. Barrie returned home and issued a challenge to Rotary Clubs to unite in restoring dignity to these Forgotten Children of this world. He soon found many Clubs shared the same dream and ROMAC was born in Bendigo and has rapidly expanded throughout Australia with many Rotarians enjoying the wonderful experience of seeing children returning home to their families with personalities, once suppressed, now blooming like a fragrant rose. |
