Fire Hydrants

When we talk about Shikarpur, We share stories regarding legend city. What  splendid things were there in the city! Fire Hydrants were water pipes especially in Dhak bazar. Because Fire Brigade could come into bazar due to narrowness, if bazar might catch fire accidentally. This was the sole purpose of Fire Hydrants. Fire might be caught accidentally not regularly, that is why, those pipes were used to wash the bazar in routine life. These pipes are still there in the city, but of no use, one can mourn at this vestige of history only. We think, this was the golden era of Shikarpur, that is why, some images of those pipes are given here to remember the development of Shikarpur before partition. These pipes might be seen from bhittai bazar to the start of staurt Ganj, where from the Dhak bazar begins. Apart from these areas, some are also in the premises of Hathi Gate. Below are the images:
