| Steel Dawn (1987) Cast:Patrick Swayze, Lisa Niemi, Christopher Neame, Brion James, Anthony Zerbe,John Fujioka Patrick Swayze stars as "The Nomad" a warrior who comes to the rescue of a post apoclypse civilization who are being terrorized by a group of bandits who want their water supply, Swayze takes the job mainly due to the fact that these same guys killed his mentor (Fujioka) in this horrendous rip off of Road Warrior.. John Fujioka is indeed the best thing here, and sadly he's killed off 10 minutes in the film, Steel Dawn is no Road Warrior, that's for sure, infact it's no Beyond Thunderdome either, it's simply a waste of time with no real worth. Sure Swayze can sell the concept as an actionstar, but he proved this much more effectively in Road House and Next Of Kin, all Steel Dawn does is wasted good production values on a story that was done much better in The Road Warrior, Mel Gibson is of course a better actor than Swazye but still, there could've been a lot of ways to make this better than the result here. Indeed this movie is so disappointing mainly because it's so boring. Lance Hool (Who also directed the equally dull Missing In Action 2) paces everything so badly that the movie fails to even gain an ounce of life. It's simply one dull movie, that's all one can say.
