When The New Challenger, Xena and Gabrielle arrive at temple, Aphrodite
appears and starts cleaning off some statues. She stops and sees Xena and
Gabrielle and walks towards them.
�Heeeeyyyyy, who is this hunk?� Aphrodite smiles mischievously at The New
Challengers appearance.
�This is my brother The New Challenger� Xena replies raising one eye while
Aphrodite gives The New Challenger an exotic look to show her approval.
�Don�t pay attention to what�s outside, pay attention to what�s inside,� The New
Challenger says.
"Good grief, just when I thought you were single," Aphrodite pouts, �Dude,
something�s strange around here, the birds and animals are acting weird. They
won�t even come near me.�
�It�s my brother Akuma. He must have been using the dark hadou before. We took a
break under a tree before we got here and the birds went nuts,� The New
Challenger explains.
�The dark hadou, so that�s what the explosion I heard off in the distance before
was. Dude you better do something before the whole world suffers because of him.
What happened with that guy anyway?� Aphrodite asks.
The New Challengers tells Aphrodite the whole story. Aphrodite is in shock.
�He�s angry with you over that?� Aphrodite asks.
Xena smirks as Gabrielle laughs.
�He won�t stop until he fights me� The New Challenger says.
�Well dude, you better beat the crap out of him before he comes after me. I
don�t want this temple destroyed because of his explosions,� Aphrodite says.
�Don�t worry, don�t provoke him everything should be fine,� The New Challenger
replies.
A red presence enters the temple. Rocks and dust start to rise off the ground.
They suddenly hear a loud growing sound. Xena and Gabrielle start to panic. The
all look for where it�s coming from.
�He�s here again,� The New Challenger warns them calmly.
Xena, Gabrielle and The New Challenger walk out quickly.
�You're not going to leave me here by myself are you!?� Aphrodite shouts at The
New Challenger.
�I thought you had disappearing powers,� The New Challenger says.
�Well, yeah, uh-doi,� Aphrodite replies with sarcasm.
Aphrodite snaps her fingers and vanishes quickly while Xena, Gabrielle and The
New Challenger walk out of the temple quickly.
As Xena, The New Challenger and Gabrielle walk into the village to buy some
food after the commotion, a young man at a food stand who�s buying some apples
off the local fruit store sees them and smiles. He then approaches them for a
friendly conversation.
�Those vegetables go bad fast, you should try the other shelves,� The young man
says.
�I�ll keep that in mind the next time I shop here,� Xena smiles.
The young man then introduces himself to them.
�I�m Xena, this is my brother The New Challenger and this is my best friend
Gabrielle,� Xena says.
�So what brings you guys here?� the young man asks.
�We�re trying to find a curtain someone who's trying to destroy life as we know
it,� Xena replies.
Everyone laughs at the thought.
�Oh really? I have a bloodline of warriors in my family,� the young man says,
were all trained for battle.
�That wouldn�t even faze him,� Xena says.
�He can take on about fifteen of you at once, no offence,� The New Challenger
replies.
�So, who is this guy?� the young man asks.
Xena tells the young man the whole story. The young man is shocked about what
happened.
�So who is this Akuma?� the young man asks.
�Akuma is my younger brother. He chose an evil path in life. Akuma means devil
in Japanese. He got that nickname because he caused a lot of destruction in the
tournament and everyone,� The New Challenger explains.
�Wow� the young man replies.
�We�re hoping to find him so we can stop him from what he�s doing?� Xena says.
�Oh, can I join you guys? I have no place to go,� the young man asks.
Xena looks at her brother, "If it's okay with my brother."
The New Challenger thinks hesitantly for a moment. I guess it's okay, but you
have to listen to me in order to survive.
"Okay, I'll do what you say," the young man says.
All four of them then decide to go to another grocery store to buy some food at
another store for their journey. As the day turns into night after several
hours, they walk down a dark road. Only the moon is showing through the trees.
You can hear the crickets chirping though the trees and bushes as the wind blows
through them. The young man starts to get nervous. The New Challenger, Xena, and
Gabrielle both look in amazement about why the young man is so cautious.
�If I didn�t know any better, I could swear you�re scared right now,� Xena says.
�I�m not scared, I can take care of myself,� the young man replies with self
confidence.
The New Challenger looks at him with a slight smile.
The young man looks at The New Challenger in a scared look.
�Good because my brother will be watching you,� The New Challenger reminds the
young man.
�I hope he won't attack me, I�m too young to die,� the young man nervously says.
Xena gives the young man a slight sarcastic laugh while Gabrielle chuckles at
the sight.
As all four of them walk down the dark path, they hear a sound as if it sounded
like somebody or something was walking towards them through the bushes. Xena,
Gabrielle and the young man turn around quickly and see two red eyes coming near
them.
The young man prays that he doesn�t get attacked.
Xena and Gabrielle get ready to defend themselves while The New Challenger waits
patiently. The young man feels something touch his shoulder. The young man
screams in horror. The New Challenger leans over and shows them it was a
bird that landed on the young mans shoulder.
�It�s just a bird that flew on your shoulder,� The New Challenger says with a
slight smile.
The young man breath's a sigh of relief.
�I can�t see a blasted thing out here,� Xena says.
�Do you want me to build a fire Xena?� Gabrielle asks.
�Yeah, that'd be a good idea,� Xena replies.
�Be careful, you never know who might be out there," The New Challenger says to
Gabrielle, "You want me to go with you?" he offers.
Gabrielle thinks for a moment, �Yeah.�
Gabrielle and The New Challenger then walk into the woods as Xena and the young
man stays behind to collect sticks to start the fire with.
While Gabrielle and The New Challenger are in the woods, she turns to The New
Challenger and says, �I�m really glad you showed up when you did, it seems as
though the whole world is in turmoil right now�.
Gabrielle and The New Challenger�s eyes are locked as the night sky is clear
while filled with stars.
�I really feel safe with you around� Gabrielle says as she puts her hand on The
New Challengers shoulder as a show of affection.
Gabrielle gives The New Challenger a romantic look while the night air is
blowing and the stars are shining through the night sky. The emotion is getting
thicker through the air as they can feel the breeze blowing around them.
�Nice stars out tonight,� The New Challenger mentions.
�Yeah,� Gabrielle agrees.
�Oh look I see the big dipper,� The New Challenger says.
�Yeah, it takes my mind away from the paranoia about your brother� Gabrielle
agrees, �I�ve gotten really paranoid since I heard about your brother, but I
feel ok since you�re around�.
�It will be okay for now, once he finally realizes that knowledge is more
powerful than evil, he�ll realize that good conquers evil every single time,�
The New Challenger says.
�When did you come down here?� Gabrielle asks.
�Couple of days ago� The New Challenger replies.
�I can�t believe how immature someone can act about and incident like this,�
Gabrielle says.
�He wants the power to be the strongest Street Fighter that every lived, after
that he wants everyone to bow down to him so that he can have total power,� The
New Challenger explains.
As they both walk back to the fire Xena and the young man are still sitting
there talking.
As The New Challenger puts a log in the fire the young man opens the water
bottle and asks anyone if they want a drink but they all respectfully answer no.
�It�s too quiet here, someone say something,� says The New Challenger.
�Something� Gabrielle jokes.
All four of them laugh at the humor.
�So what�s Akuma been like since he was in the tournament?� Xena asks.
�Cold calculating, and frankly doesn�t care about killing it�s second nature to
him. Like I had mentioned to you before,� The New Challenger explains as he
points to the young man, �He could care less if he killed you. If you gave him a
warrior�s look, he would take one look at you and perform the raging demon and
kill you�.
�What�s the raging demon?� the young man asks.
�It�s a move that has fifteen hits which results in a short trip to hell, it
would kill you instantly,� The New Challenger explains.
The young man looks on as he listens.
�What�s his ability compared to yours,� Gabrielle asks.
�He goes in for the kill, that�s why he makes so many mistakes against his good
opponents. When it comes to vulnerable ones he goes in straight for the kill and
has no remorse. On the other hand, like me, I�m always three steps ahead of him.
That�s why I haven�t lost a battle,� The New Challenger explains.
�You never lost a battle Challenger?� Gabrielle asks.
�No because I usually prevent them with words. If they don�t listen and attack
me any way then I defend myself and that�s as far as I go. I don�t go any
further than that because then I would be as bad as the fight,� The New
Challenger explains.
�Boy, am I glad I�m with you,� the young man says.
The New Challenger smiles at the compliment.
Xena throws another log on the fire as the breeze grows stronger. The New
Challenger looks up and sees the clouds moving fast.
�He�s here again,� The New Challenger warns them.
Xena and Gabrielle look on in paranoia.
�Xena you stay here with Gabrielle and our friend, I�m going to find out where
Akuma is,� The New Challenger says.
�You�re not going to leaving us here alone are you?� the young man asks.
�I�m sorry I have to, you�ll just have to stay here for a minute,� The New
Challenger replies.
The young man sits there nervously as The New Challenger walks into the woods to
look for Akuma. Xena and Gabrielle are looking after each other like a hawk as
the young man is sitting there like a chicken.
As the whole area is pitch black with only the moon showing Akuma is sitting in
a tree looking down at The New Challenger to make his first strike. The New
Challenger feels Akuma staring at him from the tree.
�I know where you are!� The New Challenger says in the direction where Akuma is
hiding.
�I know what you have and what is most precious to you, if you don�t give me
what I want, I will take Xena away from you, along with your other friend
Gabrielle,� Akuma says.
The New Challenger is fully aware of where Akuma is and says �I won�t give you
the gratification. If you fight me, then you will lose the reputation that you
have. If I fight you then I�ve already sunk to your level, so before this goes
any further just admit that you will never be me�.
There is total silence as Akuma doesn�t answer.
After a moment The New Challenger walks away and heads back towards the fire
that Xena started. Xena, Gabrielle, and the young man stand up in relief.
�Was he there?� Xena asks.
�Yeah we had a little talk. I told him to grow up and that our battle wouldn�t
solve anything unless he wanted to make a fool of himself by submitting to the
fact that I�m better than he is, and that if I went any further with out fight I
would be just as bad as he is which I wasn�t about to do.� The New Challenger
explains.
�I don�t want to fight him but if I have to I have to, but I�m hoping that day
will never come to pass.� The New Challenger says as he lays down to go to
sleep.
�Let�s get to bed,� Xena suggests.
