Kenworth's Pacific Car and Foundry line built school buses in the late 30s, all throughout the 40s, and into the late 50s. KW Pacific built school buses mainly for the Washington and Oregon State markets, and they ceased school bus production in 1957. The move proved to be valuable to Gillig Corporation of Hayward, CAL, because all of KW Pacific's bus building assets would be sold to Gillig. After that, many designs seen in the KW Pacific were seen in Gilligs, minus the extra set of lower windshields that Pacific was noted for. |
