Prevention
The World Health Organization defines health as a state of complete and physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
Health at any size should be the goal of childhood obesity prevention programs. Therefore the program should be health focused not weight focused and include aspect of the whole person physically, socially and mentally.
As the child learns from others in the family unit, therefore obesity prevention should have a family focus not an individual focus.
