Map Generator
|
Ever wanted to try mapping the various areas of the game? Or creating your own custom dungeons, 10 levels deep and filled with mazes of stairs and teleports? Take a look at the latest addition to the NeoQuest Encyclopedia - the map generator! To use the map generator, simply click on the buttons below, and the HTML code for them will be entered into the text box below. To start, click on the "Start Table" button to create a table to arrange the tiles in. Click on the various tiles in the order that you want them to appear, from left to right. When you want a new row of tiles, click the "New Row" buttton. And when you're done, click the "End Table" button. Before you can continue, however, you will need to remove the HTML coding from the "End Table" button. If you are planning to put the map in the middle of an existing page, then this is all the HTML coding that you will need. This usually works better for smaller maps. However, if you are planning to make a bigger map that you wish to screenshot, a few extra steps are needed. Before clicking on the "Start Table" button, first click on the "Start HTML" button. This will generate the default HTML coding needed for a web page. Then after you finish the map and click the "End Table" button, click on the "End HTML" button to add the closing HTML tags. After saving, it, take a screenshot of your map, upload it, and then use display the image onto your web page. You can save your work in a few ways. One way is to copy and paste all the coding inside the text box into a blank text document, and save it as either a text or HTML document. There is also a way to save your work temporarily. Select and copy the contents of the text box by pressing CTRL (Command) + A and CTRL + (Command) C. This way is helpful if your browser stops working. When you restart your browser, you can just paste back your work and continue where you left off.

Many thanks to Cubeof11 for his help in making this all possible. Note: Javascript is required to run the map generator. Too big, or too much text? A more compact version is also available. |
