Part twelve: Together
They had spent a few days on preparing the wedding. She wrote to April and got
her mother's wedding dress. He found his only tux and had it cleaned. They
invited a few close friends and planned the wedding at a church. They were both
so excited, but so nervous at the same time. They couldn't wait until the day.
She looked at the dress.
"My god, I can't believe she got married in this monstrosity," she
whispered. It flowed down past her ankles. The whole thing was made of lace,
with silk underneath. It had long sleeves and a small collar. The years had
wrinkled it and made it into something that needed fixing. She knew she had to
get some help on it. She then looked at the veil. The veil was fine, simple and
nothing more. But it was the dress. She knew that living in Paris, she had to
fix it. She asked around until she found a local tailor. She showed them the
dress and to her surprise, he wasn't scared. He took it in and when she went to
get it, it looked like something out of a fairy tale.
He was a nervous wreck. Everything up till this, he had experienced in their
relationship before. But now, he would be bound down to the one he loved. He
straightened his bow tie and took a deep breath. Emma would finally be his. No
more worrying about being alone. She would be his eternally.
She looked at herself in the mirror. Her wavy honey blonde hair has down in no
particular style. The dress looked much better. The tailor cut the sleeves just
right, so they were short. The veil covered her hair and nothing more. She had
a bouquet of pink roses and her rosary hung from her neck. Her green eyes
looked blue from the light. She looked like something she thought a princess
would look like. She was so nervous. No more worrying about living an old maid.
She would be his forever.
He stood by the altar, waiting for his bride. He heard the organ starting and
looked to the doors. He had never seen anything lovelier and precious than what
he saw. She walked down the aisle in a simple short sleeved white gown, her
hair down to the middle of her back. Her eyes shined blue and her smile was
radiant. She walked to the altar alone, no one to give her away.
When she arrived at his side, he whispered to her, "I have never seen
anything more beautiful in my life. You are more than stunning."
She smiled and said, "Nothing can compare to how handsome you are."
He smiled and soon the priest began. Despite their breaking the Catholic
Churches rules, they both wanted to be married the proper way, by some sort of
religious leader.
The priest began the ceremony and in what seemed only a matter of seconds, he
proclaimed, "I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the
bride." He looked at her and smiled. She looked at him and smiled. He then
leaned in and kissed her in a gentle manor.
As they walked down the aisle, he whispered into her ear, "Hello, Mrs.
Williams."
She giggled and said, "Hello, Mr. Williams." They were both
exploding with joy. They were now bound together for life.
