Controlling the Number of Choices in Menus

You can display Alias menus with all menu items, or with a minimized list of menu items.

How to Use

Select Long or Short from the Preferences menu. Each time you use a menu, the number of items shown depends on the following choices:

Preferences > Long

Shows all menu choices.

Preferences > Short

Shows a shorter list of menu items.

See Setting Up Your Own Menus and Hot Keys on page 547 for information on how to define your own short menus.

By default, this list is made up of items crucial for most users. You can customize the short menus for your own needs from Interface > Hotkeys / Menus.
Tip: The default menu configuration can be set in the Alias Preferences window (Preferences > User Options > Alias preferences). Set the Initial menu layout option to Long or Short and save the settings. The next time you start Alias, the menus will be configured in the way you specified.
