Vegetable Garden
The Vegetable Garden is a Chinese all-vegetarian restaurant in Rockville, MD. We eat there from time to to time. They have excellent, yummy stuff on their menu. Here's some of my favorites:

1. Sesame vegi-chicken. These are little fried puffs of coated seasoned tofu in a slightly sweet sesame glaze. Part of the reason why I like it so much is because of the little medley of asparagus, yellow squash and carrots that comes on the side. The veggies are in a white sauce, and they complement the chicken puffs nicely. I try not to order this too often, 'cause they're fried and fatty...but man are they good!

2. Asparagus with oyster mushrooms. Erin ordered this once on a fluke, and I don't think we've eaten there without getting it since then. The asparagus and mushrooms are combined with tofu in a tasty brown sauce. I practically lick my plate when we get this. The asparagus is always sweet and crisp, and the mushrooms really do taste like oysters. Yum yum.

3. Vegi-chicken with broccoli and cashew nuts. I used to adore chicken with cashews when I was a meat eater...actually, that was the first dish I ever ate in a Chinese restaurant. This is the same thing, only little chunks of seasoned tofu take the place of the chicken.

4. The usual kinds of appetizers, such as Japanese california rolls and steamed dumplings.

I've eaten at this place for my birthday before, so you know it's damned good. A lot of their food is organic, an even nicer bonus for dining there. They have a
website with their address and such. They're even located near a Metro stop. Woo hoo!
