White Tower Political Relations

This list explains the relations the White Tower has with other groups that exist on the mud. Obviously this won't be true for all Aes Sedai, but is the Tower's general stance on these groups.

The Rebel Tower: Uneasy. The rebels are currently staying in the small town of Salidar, under the leadership of the false Amyrlin, Egwene al'Vere. They are not to be trusted, specifically those who were raised to the shawl in the town and have not sworn the Three Oaths on the Oath Rod. Any true Aes Sedai may return to her rightful place in the Tower, and will be forgiven. The false Aes Sedai will be put back in novice white.

Asha'man: Hostile. These men have a liking for kidnapping and bonding Aes Sedai, but are supposedly kept under control by the Dragon Reborn, Rand al'Thor. They patrol in Caemlyn often. It is a very, very bad idea to channel in the presence of one. As they are male channelers, they are utterly repulsive to most Aes Sedai for the simple reason that we know what the taint is, and what it has done to the world in the past. Important Caemlyn Note: The Dragon Reborn, Rand al'Thor is in control of the city in the Queen's absence. He has an edict in place stating that any woman who wishes to be allowed to channel should identify herself to the Queen's Guard and wear visible identification (shawl/ring), or run the risk of being arrested by the Asha'man.

Children of the Light: Foe. A whitecloak will stop at nothing to see an Aes Sedai, whom they call 'witches', dead. They feel the same about warders. Avoid at all costs, although most whitecloaks won't be foolish enough to try arresting an Aes Sedai in public.

Nobility: Most nobles respect Aes Sedai, but many cannot be trusted as they are deeply involved in the game of houses.

Hunters of the Horn: Will often be nosy for information about the Horn. They are NOT to know where the horn is, or who sounded it. Tell them nothing at all, other than the simple history that most hunters are already well versed in.

Dragonsworn: Hostile. A group of fanatics that follows the 'prophet' and preaches the ways of the Dragon Reborn, and the evils of Aes Sedai. This prophet, Masema, is delusional and should not be trifled with.

Band of the Red Hand: A large group of mercenaries led by Matrim Cauthon, a childhood friend of the Dragon Reborn. He is known to be strongly ta'veren. Little else is known of them.

Aiel: People from across the Spine of the World. They have high respect for Aes Sedai in their history. The Shaido, however, are outright hostile.

Seanchan: Foe/Rumor. Little firm information is known, but rumor says that they use the One Power in battle. Treat tentatively.

Ogier: Most are friendly and also respect Aes Sedai, but beware of those who actually wield weapons.

Tinkers: Harmless. They are followers of the pacifistic Way of the Leaf. They are also known as the Travelling People. They move around the countryside in their garishly painted wagons seeking the song.
