The Red Ajah: This ajah is responsible for tracking down men who can channel and bringing them to the tower for gentling. Sisters of the Red Ajah do not take Gaidin, and often have very little trust for men in general. Most of them believe that a man who can channel and doesn't turn himself over for gentling is a darkfriend. There are no Red sisters in Salidar.
The Blue Ajah: A Sister of this ajah will dedicate her life to a specific cause. There are no sisters of the Blue Ajah in the White Tower. Their banners have been torn down and their color removed from the dresses of Accepted and the stole of the Amyrlin.
The White Ajah: Sisters of this ajah devote themselves to the study of logic and reason. Although it is not universal, the stereotypical White will be cold and distant. Many think that emotion interferes with logical, rational decisions.
The Grey Ajah: The province of this ajah is mediation. The Sisters of the Grey are sent to negotiate treaties, end wars and prevent conflicts. They are typically well versed in diplomacy and the laws of many nations.
The Yellow Ajah: The Sisters of this ajah are all interested in Healing and the study of disease and ailments. Although talented Healers can be found in other ajahs, the absolute best are in the Yellow. All of its members are above average with the Talent. However, it is the interest, not the Talent, that defines the ajah.
The Brown Ajah: The Brown ajah dedicates itself to study and research. They are interested not only in history, but also artifacts. Most of the women who study ter'angreal are from the Brown. The stereotypical Brown seems lost in thought much of the time and is less concerned with her appearance than would by typical of a member of another ajah. Wool dresses are much more common than silk.
The Green Ajah: The Green is also called the Battle Ajah. All Ajahs will stand against the Shadow at the Last Battle, but the Green devotes itself to preparing for it. They prepare not only for the last battle, but they fought against the Dreadlords in the Trolloc Wars. This is the only ajah whose members take more than one warder each. Women of other ajahs typically consider Greens to be flirtatious.
If the student wishes additional information on any particular Ajah, she should seek out an experienced member of that Ajah to question either ICly or OOCly.
