Artemis reminds Minako that she still has her duty as the Princess no matter what kind of person Sailor Moon is, but she just wants to be alone. She is suddenly attacked by the effeminate company president we saw in the previous episode, who has been possessed by a monster. Usagi arrives (she wants to get her autograph that she forgot), and she helps Minako escape, first by dressing up as Santa and hiding Minako in her sleigh, and then just by running and calling a cab. The two talk a little, and while Minako can't believe that Usagi didn't realise it was a monster attacking her, Usagi simply can't believe that she had shared this experience with Minako. Minako goes off on her own, but Usagi follows her (though she tries not to), and when Minako accidentally walks into some wet paint, the two of them end up going clothes shopping together. Usagi helps Minako avoid a crowd of fans using an exceptionally dumb plan (she lets her hair down, dresses in Minako's clothes and tricks the crowd into following her). The two of them then the go on a ferris wheel together, and Minako becomes a bit more friendly. They eat some cake, and discover that they both eat these cakes in the same way (they leave the strawberry on top until last). This makes Minako laugh, something she hasn't done in a long time, and she realises that it's okay to laugh even though she's a Guardian and the Princess. When Usagi gets a call and has to fight, Minako tells Artemis that she's tired of the current situation, transforms into Sailor V and follows Usagi.
Meanwhile, Nephrite asks Zoisite why he retreated last time, and he tells Nephrite that it is because he remembered something. Nephrite tells this to Queen Beryl, and she is not pleased. She invades Zoisite's thoughts, so that instead of gradually remembering what happened "long ago", he simply shows his love and loyalty to her. Nephrite is not happy that Beryl is paying so much attention to Zoisite, and vows to get both the Princess and Beryl's heart. He orders the monster to steal people's energy. Rei and Ami are nearby, and they call Usagi. Transformed, the three of them fight, and eventually they are trapped. Nephrite arrives, demanding to know where the Princess is, but Sailor Moon doesn't know. Suddenly, Sailor V arrives, announcing that she is the Princess. She throws off her mask, and her sailor suit changes. There is a crown atop her head. Artemis arrives as well, and explains that she is the Princess of the Silver Millennium and heir to the Silver Crystal, Sailor Venus. Nephrite assumes that she must have the Silver Crystal, and tells the monster to attack Sailor Venus, but the Sailor Guardians protect her, and Sailor Moon defeats the monster. Nephrite leaves.
Zoisite suddenly materialises next to Sailor Venus. He moves to attack her, but Tuxedo Mask appears and moves in front of her to protect her. Zoisite stops, and it seems that both he and Tuxedo Mask have visions of Mamoru's recurring dream. Sailor Venus attacks Zoisite with a blast of energy. He stumbles, reaching towards Tuxedo Mask, and says, "Master Endymion..." Gradually he fades away, and he appears in his piano room, where he turns into a stone just like Jadeite did. Tuxedo Mask continues to ponder the words of the Princess in his dream, and what Zoisite just said. Everyone else continues to surprised by the revelation that Sailor V is Sailor Venus and the Princess they have been searching for.
(Anime/Manga Comparison)
Characters Introduced:
- Artemis (this is his first actual appearance)
Important Events:
- Usagi and Minako get to know each other a little better; Minako becomes more friendly towards Usagi and begins to realise that being a Guardian and the Princess doesn't mean she can't enjoy herself
- Not sure if this counts as an "important event", but for the first time we hear some of Minako's new single (she sings a few lines to Usagi on the ferris wheel)
- Nephrite vows that he will win Queen Beryl's heart as well as killing the Princess (his extreme jealousy shows here - he is annoyed that Beryl is paying more attention to Zoisite, even though in this case it has nothing to do with how she may feel about Nephrite)
- The company president is no longer possessed by a monster
- Sailor V becomes Sailor Venus
- Artemis appears before Sailor Moon and the others for the first time
- It is revealed to the Sailor Guardians, Tuxedo Mask, Nephrite and Zoisite that Sailor Venus is the Princess from the Moon Kingdom and heir to the Silver Crystal
- The Moon Kingdom is referred to by its name for the first time: It is called the "Silver Millennium"
- Zoisite begins to remember something that happened "long ago", and reaches out to Tuxedo Mask, calling him "Master Endymion"
- Zoisite turns into a stone (presumably a Zoisite stone)
