Usagi tries to become Ami's friend. Luna tells Usagi that Ami is the next Sailor Guardian, but when Usagi tells Ami this she is not interested. She even thinks that the only reason Usagi wants to be her friend is because they are both Guardians. Eventually she changes her mind, and she transforms into Sailor Mercury so that she and Usagi can fight off a monster that has attacked Ami's juku (cram school).
