I have been able to go back on my González line to the late 1700's in Lampazos, Nuevo Leon, an through
another branch, to late 1600's early 1700's, in Monterrey, NL. In the 1800's my ancestors migrated northward
to the city of Lampazos de Naranjo, also in Nuevo Leon. Eventually they migrated even farther north into Coahuila,
my grt-grandfather Mariano González Ruiz settled in Jimenez around 1902, the first time he appears in the Jiménez records.
On my De Hoyos line, I have traced it to the 1689 founding of Monclova Coahuila, by Alonso De Leon. One of the founding soldiers, my direct ancestor being Santiago de Hoyos, a sargeant in De Leon's troops that came from either Saltillo or Monterrey.
This branch of De Hoyos spread from Monclova to most of the area around, such as Castaños, Sabinas,
and northward to Musquiz, Zaragoza, Morelos, Piedras Negras, & Jiménez, Coahuila.
The Conde branch came from Bejar in the first group that settled Jiménez in 1859.
This is until now a new discovery, I had thought they were from the Morelos - Zaragoza area. But it explains why we couldn't find them in the records from there, until after 1863, when my grt-grt-parents Santa Ana Conde married Ursulo de Hoyos.
The Vielma and Salazar lines come from Parras, Coahuila. I have estimated that they arrived in Jiménez around 1894,
that is the year they first appear in the Jiménez records. In 1892, they were still appearing in the Parras church records.
The Vielma line I have traced to the early 1700's. The Salazar line I have traced only to about 1810.
My maternal grandmother, Angelita Escalante, came to Jiménez around 1911 from Saltillo. her parents were Espiridion Escalante & Julia Solis.
I have not been able to research records from Saltillo, hopefully something exists that will help me on her lineage.
