Very little is known about Selonia even thought it is one of the "Five Brothers". The planet sees a great deal of starship traffic as it passes by on their way to  and from the massive shipyards of the system. But, most visitors  and even some of the native Corellians know very little about this world and its inhabitants.

Selonia has no large oceans or large land masses. Instead the planet is covered with a bewildering array of islands, archipelagos, inlets, and peninsulas separated by narrow seas and shallow waterways A twisting range of volcanic mountains  called Cloudland Peaks is the planets most striking feature.

The Selonian's are fur covered and very sleek and powerful. They are a carnivorous species that evolved from aquatic mammals. They can move just as easily on all four legs as they can on two legs. Their tails make a very powerful bludgeoning weapon. Despite their outward appearance they have a very complex  social structure similar to insectoid species. Selonians live in dens. Each Selonian den is ruled by a queen and a few fertile males, who sire all of the embers of the den. Despite this fact the fertile males as just regarded as breeding stock.

The work of the den is done by sterile by sterile female workers. The females from one father are in one "sept" and are genetically identical. Competing dens control regions of Selonia, and the ruling clan is known as the Overden.

When violence erupted in the system fourteen years after Endor, the Triad from Sacorria which included  members of a long-dishonored Selonian den masterminded a plan  to take over the sector. Han Solo was captured by his cousin Thracken Sal-Solo, who had proclaimed himself  the Corellian Diktat, and imprisoned. He was forced to fight a female Selonian named Dracmus for Thracken's amusement. Dracmus's friends however were able to free Han and Dracmus from the jail.

It became clear to Han that Dracmus didn't have Han's best interest in mind as they boarded the ship that would take them to Selonia. Dracmus was of the Hunchuzuc clan which wanted to use Han as a bargaining chip to negotiate with a rival clan back on Selonia.

Unfortunately, the ruling Overden had made a deal with the disgraced Selonians of the Triad, and had gained control of the planet's repulsor. They used it on a Bakuran warship named Watchkeeper with a single shot from the repulsor. Han Solo was turned over to the Overden when Dracmus submitted, and surrendered the Hunchuzuc clan to the Overden.

The tables were turned when Dracmus found out about the Overdens deal with the ignominious Selonians of Sacorria. Dishonor and deception are unforgivable sins in Selonian society. The leader of the Overden had no choice but to relinquish power in favor of the Hunchuzuc Den. The Hunchuzuc Den put their support behind the New Republic. This made the crisis in Corellia one step closer to a successful resolution.
