Spr Jukebox v7.32 Walk through

Spr Jukebox is the best Mp3 addon one can use for mIRC 5.51 and up .
Although it is a great script , it is not uncommon for people to make mistakes during the installation of it
Hopefully this page will address the common mistakes and help the user to a successful install.

Unzip it to your main mIRC folder eg. c:\mirc .
1st common mistake: Some people install it into a subfolder eg. c:\mirc\spr
The files have to be unzipped into the main mIRC directory or the script will not load .
After it loads it will move the files into a spr sub folder for those worried about clutter.

I strongly suggest that users create a separate folder for their mp3's , eg. c:\mp3
for those not familiar with the process... Click on Start,Programs,Windows Explorer .
Click on c: ,Goto File,new Folder ... a flashing folder will pop up on the right bottom of the Explorer,
type in mp3 and hit Enter

Then set your mIRC dcc options to direct up loading mp3's into the new Folder.
In your mIRC Goto dcc , options , folders ... click on Add , type in *.mp3
Then click on the Into this directory Bar . A directory menu will pop up , double click on c:
Scroll down to your mp3 folder and double click on it
Check if the Into this directory bar lists your folder , if so click OK twice to exit the options.
If not click on the bar and try again.

If you're using mIRC 5.6 and up you need to disable the /run lock or Spr cannot create a list or do other functions.
Goto File , Options , General , Locks and uncheck the /run box

Connect to a server and join a channel and type /load -rs spr-jb1.ini into the chat window .
You'll be prompted twice wether or not to let the script load . Hit Yes both times then the main option menu loads .

Channel Setup:

 Type in #channel name in the Channel setup window , click on Add
Directory Setup:

 Click on Add next to Directory setup .Double click on c: , find your mp3 folder
and double click on it
*Note: Do not use folder with spaces in them. eg. c:\mp3 country.
Change it to c:\mp3_country instead.
If you're using several mp3 folders you can choose c:\
 as well as additional drives as directories .Spr will scan your entire Drive(s)
that way for mp3's when creating the list.
Player Setup:
 Click on the Player Setup bar .Locate your winamp directory
Usually c:\program files\winamp\ if winamp was installed to it's default path .
Find your winamp.exe in the winamp folder ,and select Open.
Have seen people choose the winamp setup file instead of the actual player .
Make sure you don't Goto your download directory choosing the installation file.

Enable:  Main channel only mode and Listen to sound request

Disable:  Show ads in channel , On join start mute and Echo ctcps and Grabput etc


Click on the pulldown menu next to Setup Menu at the top and Goto DCC Server
I Recommend leaving the settings as is and just change the Net split/server hop time limit to 10 mins

Goto the pulldown Menu again and select @Find/@Locator Server
Enable everything except Intervalled after one successful search

Use pulldown Menu again and go back to General
Click on OK , next window to load is the List Options
Your Nickname should be already showing in the Default nick for !nick trigger window .
Click on update , a red bar will start going across the top right of your mIRC screen creating your list of mp3 files
After it's done your list will be shown for preview.

Remember to update frequently after getting more files .
You can return to the List Options by right clicking your mouse in the channel window ,
then Goto Jukebox , List , Update and click on update again.

After the list is done , Goto the Jukebox menu ( right click in the channel window ),BR> select Jukebox , setup , chan setup , make this main ch . This set your current channel as Main channel .
You can add other channels by right click in their channel window the Jukebox , setup , chan setup , add this chan.
Or from within your Main window select Jukebox , setup , chan setup ,add another and follow instructions.

There are several ways to channel play the mp3's
Easiest way ( if you have a fair amount of files ) is to let spr Random play it

Jukebox , play , random play

( real=real time ... one after the other will play with no break in between | regl=lets you choose the amount of minutes between the start of each song )


Jukebox , play , playlist
Click on File+ , choose your mp3 folder , select ok , select first song , hold down shift button , press End key , select add to playlist and close . Then either double click on a song to play it to the channel or click on the play button .There's also a shuffle button you can choose the list to pick random songs that way .


Jukebox , play , play once , to chan

Find your mp3 folder and choose a song and click on ok or double click on it .


To display your amount of files/stats/cps etc goto Jukebox , ads , list slots , once or set the timer if you wish.
For your current DCC stats goto Jukebox , ads , dcc status ,once to chan ,to yourself or to another person

This should cover most of the concerns regarding the setup and operation of the script.
Take your time with the menus , takes a little bit to get the hang of it :)
