Ho Ho Hey Ho Everybody! It's that time of year again! Ever since my first one, I have always Loved the Christmas Season! Whats Not To Love???

The excitement is building to that most wonderful time of year! The CHMR DJ's even got in the spirit earlier this week at the annual "GREAT CHMR DJ's CHRISTMAS CAROL SING!" This years event was sponsored by Parsons & Sons Transportation, who provided us with a pair of tickets to a St. Johns Maple Leafs game as a Prize.

We also had the Great CHMR DJ's Christmas Carol Sing... which was a Blast! (As Always) An enthusiastic gathering of CHMR DJ's was joined by Special Guest Ray Lake, who had everybody stamping their feet and clapping their hands, with some of his original music, and homespun sense of humor!

There was a great Turnout of DJ's, all in fine voice. We were all happy to see Kathy and Ernst, who came in to make sure we didn't fatally embarass the Station. (hehehe) And what Carol Sing would be complete without Sir Matthew of Beverly.

Looking for something to do on New Years Eve? Well, there's lots of great stuff happening in and around St. Johns to help you ring in the new year. Here is just a sampling of some of the events going on;

MIANL Nominees, Ocean Skye. It should be a great evening of entertainment with two of Newfoundland's Best New Bands! Tickets are $15 in advance or $18 at the door. Tickets are available at The Basement or email [email protected] or phone 709-747-5029.

The Meigle Lounge in Seal Cove, CBS, will be hosting a New Years Bash with Freshly Squeezed. Combine great live rock n roll music with a Cool Door Prize, Giveaways, Party Favors, and a Late Night Snack, and it's a New Years Bargain! Tickets are only $10.00 per person and available by calling (709) 744-1212

In On Air news;

"A Downhomer Christmas" is almost finished. Just a few last touches, and it's ready to fly! This years show will feature several new exclusive songs by local artists, as well as the return of 'Dr. Chmr's Strange and Unusual Christmas Facts', with 4 new segments. Another new feature just for the little ones this year is 'Sing Along With The Chipmonks'.

This years show will be co-hosted by yours truely, and Kenny Hammond. Gabe sends his regrets, but he just couldn't get the time off work.

The Songwriters promises to be a dandy this week. John Phillips will be in the studio to talk about his latest CD 'Through the Eyes of a Child'. This is an excellent CD of all new, all original songs, about Christmas! The perfect Christmas Gift for those away, who wish they could be home for the holidays.

Many of the above mentioned artists have CD's available. If you would like to pick up a copy of any of these CD's, (In person or online), just visit Fred's Records. They have the best selection of local music you're likely to find, along with all your favorites. And Local Music makes Great Christmas Gifts!

Well... Merry Christmas one and all! I'll see you in 2004.
