My Appologies to regular Visitor's, but due to illness and work commitments, it has been some time since I was able to update the site. I am working on Making some Improvements, so keep an eye out for changes to the site. In the meantime, alot has happened since the last Update...

On Saturday, April 15th., I had the honor and pleasure of attended the Release Party for Ron Hynes new Self Titled CD release. It was an allstar lineup as Ron was joined on stage by former WGBer's Glenn Simmons, Sandy Morris, and Boomer Stamp, as well as Patty Moran (Punters) and . Ron Performed the entire album in the first set, then returned for a second set of old favorites.

An appreciative crowd sold out the legendary LSPU Hall, to see Ron launch his new album. They hung on his every word, as Ron held them enthralled with some of the strongest matterial he has ever done. Two sets later, they bought him back for two encores, before retiring to the Gallery for a Meet and Greet and CD signing.

On a personal note, Ron blew me away with his new song "Carry This Cross", which uses the suffering of Christ on the road to Calvary as a metaphor for the suffering we all endure in our lives. It is a beautiful and powerful lament that left me speachless when I witnessed it performed live. Over all, it was a fantastic evening, for which I must say a special Thanks to Ron Hynes and Lynn Horne for all their Help! The New CD is avaiable now, released through Borealis Records.

Former CHMR member and Singer/Songwriter Sean Panting has been busy! He released Two CD's simultaniously! "Victrola" and "Reciever" are the Jeckle & Hyde that is the Tallent of Sean Panting. These two albums are different as Night and Day, yet uniquely alike. All the songs on "Reciever" are available on "Victrola", but that's where the similarity ends... they are both in vastly different styles. "Victrola" is an accoustic album, on which Sean performs in an 'unplugged' style, while he is electric and backed by a fine band on "Reciever". Check them Out!

Mark Knopfler, the former frontman of the Dire Straits, has a new project coming out next month. Its an album of duets with Emmylou Harris, which is his first repease since Shangri-la... and album that is still getting requests on CHMR. Personally... I can't wait for the new album to come out!

The new Janiva Magness album is also out. "Do I Move You" is a collection of tunes produced by Colin Linden and Janiva Magness. This album is a wonderful showcase of her talents as a vocalist, songwriter and Producer! The More I see and Hear of Janiva Magness, the more I am Impressed with her!

Speaking of Impressive, Neil Young has a New album out as well! Prairie Wind is a collection of originals that show the depth of Neil Youngs almost limitless talent as a singer/songwriter! This album is Sure to be an Instant Classic... so pick up your copy now!

Many of the above mentioned artists have CD's available. If you would like to pick up a copy of any of these CD's, (In person or online), just visit Fred's Records. They have the best selection of local music you're likely to find, along with all your favorites!
