Released December 20th., 2003.

The Great CHMR DJ's Christmas Carol Sing was held on Monday, December 12th., 2005. It was an excellent sucess! Thanks to Kathy, Ernst, Nami, Peter, Kyle, Linsey, Craig, Big Al, Elizabeth, and all those who came and lent their voices to the choir, but who'se names escape me. Thanks also to all those who called in to make a request, and congratulations to Ron McNeil, the Winner of the St. Johns Fog Devils Prize. Last but not least, many thanks to Parsons & Sons for providing the prize! It was a wonderful eveing of seasonal joy, and we are already looking forward to next year!

Christmas will be great on CHMR this year. I am working on Several Things, including "A Down Home Christmas" (to be hosted by Kevin Kelly), Dr. Cosmic's Weird, Wild and Wacky X-mas X-traviganza, The Christmas Hangover Cure, The Blind Lemon Christmas, The Fred's Best of 2005 and a whole bunch of great seasonal programming from our great DJ's and Producers.

The local music news has been dominated with the release of the Rex Goudy CD, "Under The Lights". People lined up for hours just to be the first to get a copy! It's amazing what coming second on a show like Canadian Idol can do for you. Imagine the frenzy that would result here in Newfoundland if he had actually Won! Personally... I've heard the album and can't honestly say I like it. A friend of mine summed the album up very well when she said, "It sounds like an album that was done by someone who didn't know what he was doing or what he actually wanted to do... so he had someone else do it for him". Rex is still trying to find his sound I guess... Lets hope he finds it.

One Irony that came out of the Sexy Rexy frenzie was pointed out to me last week. The night of the CD release, they had a Post Party Party at Club Etomic. Of course the place was packed! Next door... Jason Greeley (Remember him) played for 10 People. Boy... if that's foreshadowing... I hate to think of what Rexy faces next year!

I had an e-mail from Randal Arsenault in South Africa. He is still plugging away at his Doctorate, and picking at "The Journey" when ever he gets a chance. We asked me to pass along his best to all... so for Randal... Merry Christmas!

It's certainly a happy holidays for Rasa Fans! They have a new seasonal CD out called "Do You Hear What I Hear?", featuring a selection of great christmas songs as only erin can sing them! Erin has such a beautiful voice that she brings a level of class and emotion to seasonal songs that have almost become tarnished by the blatant commercialism that seems so determined to undermine the basic beauty of the season. If you don't have a copy... get it! Rasa's "Do You Hear What I Hear" is sure to become a Christmas Favorite!

Of course there's lots of great Newfoundland Music out there, so show your support for our local artists! Buy the Cd's, visit the live shows... Let them know you appreciate their tallents, and value our culture as much as they do!

Many of the above mentioned artists have CD's available. If you would like to pick up a copy of any of these CD's, (In person or online), just visit Fred's Records. They have the best selection of local music you're likely to find, along with all your favorites!

In on Air News;

I have to say a special thanks to Erin Best and Sandy Morris of RASA. They were kind enough to provide me with 3 signed copies of their Christmas CD, "Do You Hear What I Hear" to give away on The Hangover Cure for the month of December.

I also produced the Blind Lemon Best Canadian Blues of 2005 for the Boxing Week program rotation. We conducted a poll of music stores, blues DJ's, promoters, and blues fans to find the Top Ten Canadian Blues albums of 2005. The List is featured on the site. I must say a Special Thank you to Promoter/PR person Sarah French who was a great help in the production of this show!

Its gonna be a squeeze... But I expect to get it all done in time for the Holidays!

Well... thats it, except for me to thank all my listeners and friends for your kind support, and to wish one and all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! See you all in 2006!
