I have been a Memeber of CHMR since 1977 and in the 28 years since, I have worked with alot of very fine people. One of those people is Nancy Earle, CHMR's News Director, or should I say CHMR's Former News Director. Aunt Nancy (as I have been known to call her) has moved on to greener pastures and left in her wake a rather sizable pair of shoes to fill. Thanks to Nancy for her years of dedication and service to CHMR, and for being a wonderful friend to us all.

Randall Arsenault (of Dr. Zoo) tells me his new album is almost finished... again. He spent most of the summer working on a Concept album with a working title of "The Journey to 42", but upon completion of the final mixes, the entire album was 'Lost'. (You know what they say... "to Err is Human, to Really Screw Up requires a Computer!")

Randall went back into the studio, and has re-recorded the whole thing, from scratch. I've heard the initial board mixes of the album, and it is quite good. It holds together very well for a concept album and yet, the subject/story doesn't overwelm the music. It's an excellent peice of work!

Speaking of work, I've been producing up a storm with the Songwriters Road Trip. For the month of November, the lineup looks like this. Sunday, Nov 6th. it's is a true survivor, Carl Weathersby. Next up, on Sunday, Nov 13th. Billy Branch who'se work with the "Blues In Schools" program is second to none. Then on Sunday, Nov 20th. it's a band with a great future, Quarter Life out of Ottawa. Last but not least, for Sunday, Nov 27th. my guest is Fred Litwin of Northern Blues Records. It promises to be a great month on the Songwriters. (Please Note, the November 6th and 13th shows have been reversed from the original program listing)

There is a down side of doing the Entire season of The Songwriters as pre-records. I have lost touch with some of the local musicians who have been guests on the show. I hope to rectify that over the next few weeks... so be watching for more news on Local Artists coming soon.

The next concert coming to Mile One is Chris De Burgh. An incredible Singer / Songwriter, he has a legion of loyal fans in St. Johns, all of whom anxiously await his return. In association with that, check the on air section for big news of a new contest!

With Halloween (which falls on a Monday) just around the corner, I have been working on an idea for a Special edition of Cosmic Debris. The whole thing is still just an itch in the back of my head that I can't seem to scratch, but if it pans out like I hope, then you won't wanna miss the October 31 edition of Cosmic Debris!
