Spring is Sprung... and this update is late!

The Ottawa Bluesfest has announced it's line up for this years Festival! Its an Impressive line up that will feature George Thorogood, The Tragically Hip, Blue Rodeo, Colin James, Bryan Adams, Robert Cray Band, Nelly Furtado, and a Host of other great performers, including two of my personal Favorites... Colin Linden and The Holmes Brothers!

Having attended the Ottawa Bluesfest in the past, I can say from experience, it is second to None! The atmosphere, the music, the experience... there is nothing like it. Visit their Website, at www.ottawa-bluesfest.ca for more details!

As I said last Month, I will be attending the Moody Blues concert at the Melody Tent in Hyannis, MA, next Month. I would be amiss if I did not recognice the efforts of Kendall Maffett of Insight Management, who went above and beyond the call of duty in arranging an Interview with the Justin Hayward, of the Moody Blues.

The Interview was scheduled for May 25th (Which is why this News Update is a little late) I spent an excellent 30 minutes on the phone with Justin Hayward, and had a great interview.... Unfortunately, due to an equipment malfunction, the interview was lost! (Yes, that Scream you heard last Tuesday was me)

I can tell you that Justin Hayward is an absolute pleasure to interview, and had some wonderful insights on song writing and his career with the Moody Blues. We are trying to re-schedule, and I must take my hat off to Kendall for his patience, and assistance in this matter.

Hey... Guys at Insight Management! What ever you are paying Kendall... it isn't enough! He deserves a Raise! Hell... For putting up me, he deserves a Medal!

Last week, I had the pleasure of checking out Dutch Robinson, live on George Street. He is one of a growing stable of performers distributed by Landwash Distribution, including Ron Hynes, Barry Canning and Rod Jackson... to name but a few. They distribute mainly Atlantic Canadian Artists... so support local artists, and check out their website!

Be listening for the Songwriters on June 6th., when my guest will be Dutch Robinson! This Cat's got some Soul... so don't you dare miss it!

Many of the above mentioned artists have CD's available. If you would like to pick up a copy of any of these CD's, (In person or online), just visit Fred's Records. They have the best selection of local music you're likely to find, along with all your favorites!

In on Air News;

Parsons & Sons Transportation and CHMR-FM will be teaming up again this summer to give one lucky listener a change to win two tickets to the Salmon Festival Concert in Grand Falls. The contest starts on June 14th., so keep it tuned to 93.5 CHMR for Details!

The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy will make it's annual migration to CHMR again This Summer. Starting on Monday, June 14th., 2004, and running for 12 weeks, Douglas Adams Classic BBC radio series will replace the Monday Night Epic. Not to worry Epic Fans... starting in September, the Epic will return!

Well... Thats it for now! Keep The Faith!!! :)
