On The Road Again... Just Can't wait to get on the road again... :)

Well... This is it! Kathy and I have hit the road on the way to the Hyannis Melody Tent to see The Moody Blues Live in concert. We depart on Monday, June 21st, and should be in Cape Cod by Friday the 25th... that's counting almost 2000 miles driving and 14 hours on a Ferry.

I know what you are thinking... and No, I have not gone out of whats left of my tiny little mind!

Its a long driver, (4 days to be exact) but to see the Moody Blues, it is definately Worth it! They are one of the most influential bands of the Rock era, and a personal favorite of mine since I was Ten Years Old. All of us have that one musical act that opened our minds to music... for me, it was the Moody Blues!

I have always said; "There are only Two Bands left in the world that I would be willing to travel to see... Pink Floyd and The Moody Blues." Of coarse the fact that I will be meeting the band while there

This trip does limit my options to travel for the rest of the summer. Because of this trip, I will have to miss the Ottawa Bluesfest... which is a Major Bummer! This years line up is impressive, and it will hurt to miss it!

The "Full Album Special idea has been taking up alot of my time. Besides the Moody Blues, I have also been in touch with people involved with Jethro Tull, Yes, and several other big name groups. It is a big mountain to climb... but nothing gets done by those who do not try, so I am trying! :)

In local music News, Terry Penney's new CD should be out soon. He will be my first guest on The Songwriters, when I get back. I haven't heard any of the new CD, but I have been told that it is a heavier effort than Terry's last album, "Missing Marshville". I look forward to hearing it!

Antisipation is building for the new Gordon Lightfoot CD. The name I have been hearing for the CD is "Harmony", featuring all new material from the man who is considered by many to be the Voice of Canada. Gordon Lightfoot is a true national treasure, and it is great to hear he is on the mend, and ready to release a new album!

Many of the above mentioned artists have CD's available. If you would like to pick up a copy of any of these CD's, (In person or online), just visit Fred's Records. They have the best selection of local music you're likely to find, along with all your favorites!

In on Air News;

The Parsons & Sons Transportation "Rock~n~Ride" Contest is now running on CHMR-FM. One lucky listener will win two tickets to the Salmon Festival Concert in Grand Falls.

The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy made it's much antisipated return as part of Cosmic Debris last week. The famed BBC Series is a summer tradition on Cosmic Debris!

Last (but certainly Not least) I had the pleasure of producing a program of music from Sweden, hosted by Tomas Karlsson. Tomas was visiting Newfoundland for a short vacation, when I talked him into hosting a show on CHMR in his native language! The show featured some great songs by artists from Sweden. It will broadcast from time to time... so check it out!

The show originally aired on Sunday, June 13th., and is now part of the CHMR Filler Show library. So... if you tune in CHMR, and hear Swedish music... you'll know what happened!

Tomas did a great job on the show, and it was a pleasure meeting, and working with him!

Well... Thats it for now! Keep The Faith!!! :)
