Reiger was my first keel boat, I bought her when I was 21 and she was my home for 5 years. She has a great history, Jim dilly sailed her out from England to New Zealand, I first met Jim when he was a second mate on 'Flinders Bay' and I was a first trip cadet. While on watch with Jim across the Indian Ocean we mostly talked about Yachts. Who would have thought that 3 years later I would end up buying his boat! My Biggest trip in reiger was Across the Tasman from Nelson to Sydney, But I will always remember her for the Fantastic time Me and Bernadette had Living aboard in NZ and Sydney for a Year. |

I Managed to get on the cover of Cruising Helmsman. It was quite funny really as there was heaps of beautiful boats around at the wooden boat festival and they used a GRP boat! |

Reiger always sailed wonderfully, but my best memorys are always of ghosting along in the lightest of winds. For many years I had no engine just the big oar so I guess I had to learn to be patent |

Reiger had a tiny little Interior, for a 26 footer she was very small. We found the layout worked well and she was suprisingly easy to live aboard. Not having an inboard gave us alot of storage under the cockpit |

Reiger has lovely underwater lines, being similar to a Folkboat with just the bit of a counter stern added. This photo was taken in wellington after slapping a new coat of paint on her. |
