The club meets on Thursdays at noon (12:00) at the Three Flags Club. Visiting
Kiwanians are welcome to attend, just call one of the officers or a member in advance.
The name Brú is the Icelandic word for bridge
and also stands for the initials of our theme "Build Richer
Understanding". The membership of the club consists of multi-national members from Iceland and United States mainly, but also we have members from Denmark, England, Norway, Germany, Portugal, and Canada so we truly can build a richer understanding between nations within the club.
The club is in the Ægir Division of the Iceland-Faeoes District. Our main service is to support various projects in our community which have included:
 Foster child in Sierra Leone.
Christmas candy for retarded folks in Kópavogur.
A.T. Mahan High School Yearbook.
2-3 Scholarship awards.
Child Reach: Fund for world emergencies involving children.
Support for foster child in Bangladesh (1 year).
Provide support for ending female genital mutilation in Africa.
The KI Program of IDD Iodine Deficiency initiative to wipe out IDD by the year 2000.
NAS Library for enhancing its collection of Icelandic videos.
Icelandic Stroke Association.
Young Astronauts program to support one student to attend the Kennedy Space Camp.
Support Njarðvík Music School's band to attend jamboree in Holland in summer 1997.
All (100%) of the funds raised at public functions by the Kiwanis
is returned to the community via projects as listed above.
