Brú is selling Christmas Goblins X-mas cards
The Kiwanis Club Brú is selling the Christmas Goblins Cards before each Christmas as we have done in past years for our Charity Funds. The cards are available at Mini-Mart on Saturdays from 11:00 - 15:00. This is a package of six cards with envelopes and a description insert with each card of "Legends about the Icelandic Christmas Goblins" but this ancient Icelandic legend, running hundred of years back, tells about two trolls or ogrees, Grýla and Leppalúði, and their sons the Christmas Goblins. The artist of the cards, Halldór Pétursson was not only a serious artist, he was also famous for his caricaturist for his magazine covers and illustrations.

Outgoing leaders of Brú awarded

Sverrir Kaaber with Mr. Glen Bagnell
during Bagnell's visit in Iceland
At Ægir-Division Conference in Garður, held in September 1996, the division awarded Robert Pollard, Past-President the Excellent President Shield. He is without doubt one of the best presidents we have had and we at Brú where not surprised to find out that the Ægir-Division is same minded.

Sverrir Kaaber returns to Brú
Sverrir Kaaber of Brú has now returned back to Brú (even he never left us) after serving last year (1995-1996) as Lt. Governor of Ægir- Division. He has now decided to go on as Governor-Elect of Iceland-Faroes District at the next District's Conference in August. He is one of three candidates for this position, but all three candidates are members of Ægir-Division, which shows the action of our division.

Brú at the 1997 Summer Carnival 14 June
Kiwanis Club Brú will again participate at the Summer Carnival, where visitors from the base, Reykjavík and Reykjanes Peninsula Area visit to have fun in the many booths available of games and adventures. Brú has in the past used this opportunity to drive cash for the charity fund. Jon Cutress is the chairperson for the club's activity and he will with other members be there to great you and other visitors when you come to try your luck at the Kiwanis location. Come and help us to help others!
