Mr. Day Olin Mount, Ambassador of the United States of America to Iceland was a special guest at Brú's meeting on 30 January, 1997. He spoke about the US-Iceland relation and cooperation. In December we had Mr. Olav N. Otto, Economic and Commericial Officer of American Embassy visiting us and discussing the trade exchange between the US and Iceland.

The 1997
Spring Country Ball
The club's Spring Country Ball took place on 24 May at the Three Flags Club. This event of over 360 members from 15 Kiwanis clubs and guest was very successful and gave our charity fund extra bucks to use in next administrative year. Honor guests of the evening where Captain and Mrs. Allen A. Efraimson, NAS Commanding Officer and Mr. and Mrs. Örnólfur Þorleifsson, Governor of Iceland-Faroes District. As a part of the entertainment, three of the clubs participated in Line dance competition and this year we placed 3rd, but next year we will take the 1st place with no doubt! All the Cowboys and Cowgirls of the evening had a great time and we know that they will all be back next year for new Country adventures with Brú.
