This movie had it all. Action, adventure, comedy, romance, and drama. It stars Tom Cruise as Mavrick, a Navy pilot who's just been sent to one of the most elite flying school, where the best pilots learn how to be better pilots.
That's the basic part of the
action and adventure. The romance comes in with Kelly McGillis.
Mavrick meets her at a bar seranades her with, You've Lost That Loving Feeling and then
the next day discovers she's an instructor. Of course Charlie
breaks the rule of never dating her students and falls head over
heals for Mavrick.
Another part of the movie is the high competition between "Iceman" and Mavrick competeing for the Top Gun Award. The drama comes in here when Mavrick looses control of his plane while going on his final flight before graduation. Goose and Mavrick end up parachutting down to the sea where Goose dies a Mavrick's arms. Don't despair though, there's still plenty of happy moments after the fatel flight.
With some awesome special affects, a cool love story, and a good soundtrack this movie should definately go on your list of "must sees".
