Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
Unplasticised polyvinyl chloride is hard and tough but it can be moulded into a variety of hard-wearing hollowware articles. To form and mould rigid PVC it has to be heated about its Tg of 87C to make it soft and flexible.

Polypropylene (PP)
This is a tough, rigid, lightweight material with similar properties to polythene but with better heat resistance. It has good mechanical properties, and good resistance to attach by acids, alkalis and salts even at high temperatures. It is widely used for chemical plant equipment and domestic hardware, and is also used for moulding hospital and laboratory equipment.
