WorkGroup 3 as a Client of WorkGroup 5

Our group has decided to use the “Software Developer Community” which written by one of our group member, Jakrapun Vacharachaisurapol for implementing and provide the corresponding design group with this proposal. As a result Jakrapun also act as group representative to contact with Designer group5.

We sent the final decided proposal to Homa, on 4th May 2005.

On 12th May 2005, our group receive the mail from group 5 that gave us some question on our proposal. There are 7 questions which actually quite unclear define for group 5 to implementation the community.

Our group member, Jakrapun Vacharachaisurapol who proposed the community, replied the clearly explanation as soon as possible after received the mail. He is the designer for provide the idea to the designer team.

On 15th May 2005, Gaeten Guilhon whose one of the member of designer group sent us a mail to inform the prototype of the community is done. They requested for extra asynchronous functions to bring more excitement to the members, such as blog, or a poll (such as a weekly poll i.e.).

For the search functions that we required, for local search and also allied communities, designer group suggested to include a global search bar as well such as Google search bar.

On 18th May 2005, Designer group sent us a mail to inform of the prototype. Most of our group member went to have a test the prototype of the community. Initially, the prototype has the function of Discussion/Forum board. Designer has according to the proposal requirement that using the PhPBB to implement the Discussion/Forum board. Some of our group member left some message in the discussion/forum board for testing.

It provide that registered user can delete, edit the own posted reply message, vote the polls which not function at this moment. For the guest, it only provides post function.

For the following days, our group as the tester, who keep testing the community and give the feedback to the designer group.

On 17th May 2005, designer group has updated the preliminary document.

On 19th May 2005, our group receive a mail that the preliminary is updated and the process and the problem that they are facing now, and answering the questions that asked from our group member.

On 21st May 2005, designer group has implemented the chat room for the community. Our group member went in have a try on that day. The chat rooms provide the normal features, such as colour change for the font, some emotions.

Designer group has implemented the Discussion, Chat and Poll. All of them are fulling function.

On 22nd May 2005, designer group create a topic in the prototype forum for communication between designer and client. Our group members are great to use and test the function at the same time.

So, our group members gave the feedback from mail to post the message in that prototype forum.

All of our group members are the tester for designer group after the prototype released. Most of our group members provide feedback after they test the prototype that designer team provide.

Our group receive the proposal from Homa on 10th May 2005, which Homa has put out client proposal in our group file exchanger in UTSOnline.

Jakrapun Vacharachaisurapol is the prototype designer/developer, Nattaphon Supalasret is the PR who contact with our client for the requirement, Nobuhiro Nakayama is the documenter, try to arrange combine the document for the group. Alder Pang Hsyung Chew is the researcher finding sample contents for posting on the prototype.

Our group decided to use one of our member’s computers to be the host, because we can’t find the free host that provide the services fulfil to our need.

On 23rd May 2004, our group have finished most of the requirement of the proposal.

On 24th May 2005, Alder, the researcher, mailed the example of sailing news, articles, and FAQ to Jakrapun. Jakrapun Vacharachaisurapol posted the prototype community, and on the same day Jakrapun as prototype developer launched the first version of community website and sent the email to inform to our group member and client group.

So, all the group members are the tester for our prototype community for the following process. Some of the group members gave some feedback at the same day.


On 24th May 2005, Noburihu, the documenter divide the documentation that mentioned by the Homa, to some of the group member. Alder will do the ‘Roles and responsibility of each team member’ and ‘Work breakdown structure’. Nattaphon Supalasret did the ‘Feedback received from Client team’, ‘Communication with designer team’ and ‘Feedback sent to Designer team’. Nobuhiro Nakayama did the ‘Communication with client’ and Mirna did the ‘Draft of research work’.
