7 Important Things To Know for running uDesktop

1. If you have run the setup file and uDesktop is not on your desktop. Right click your desktop, and press "Refresh" in the menu. Also check that Active Desktop is enabled. Or try rebooting.

2. You must have cookies enabled in your browser to save anything. All changes are saved automatically.

3. You should always backup your data. You can backup your links by pressing "Backup All Data" in the tools tab. Follow the directions carefully after pressing the button.

4. For internet links you must have http:// before the link ex. http://www.thesite.com

5. If you suddenly have an error or problem with the program and it is still running, press 'Reload Desktop' under the tools menu and it will restart. (This will also choose a new random bg if it is enabled)

6. You have a limited amount of storage space since Windows only allows cookies to be a certain size (4KB limit, cookies are what hold everything that is saved). So to conserve space, try putting all your wallpaper files in the same folder. To keep the cookie size down, try using very short names for your links.

7. DO NOT delete your cookies from the IE browser! Doing this will loose all you information. If you want to delete all cookies except ones holding udesktop info. If you want to delete cookies manually in the cookie folder, don't delete and cookie with C__WINDOWS or C_documents_and_settings in the name.
