Take a look at some famous university landmarks.. Assumption University (ABAC) Bangna Campus Established in 1969, Assumption Business School (ABAC) is one of Thailand's most respected educational institution and the country's first international university. ABAC's Bangna campus completed in 2002 and ocated on a vast greenfield just off Km26 of the Bangna-Trad Highway. The uni is fully equipped with state of the arts research facilities, and has an 8 lane Olympic size swimming pool, squash courts, saunas and gymnasium which seats 3,200 people.
More info: www.au.edu Shinawatra University, Pathumthani: Another futuristic university located in the northern outskirt of Bangkok. An international university founded by the current Thai PM, Dr Thaksin Shinawatra. The university's auditorium building looks somewhat like a giant UFO flying saucer from the 1960s movie. The observation tower (below) is also futuristic looking.
Suranaree University of Technology - Nakhon Ratchasima
The university's icon, the Suranapa Symbolic Tower (pic above) is an 82 metres tall lotus shaped observation tower. The tower was completed in 1995 in time for the university hosting of WorldTech'95 (world agricultural expo). Other on-campus attractions include a butterfly farm and the Isarn cultural centre which features cultural artefacts collected from Thailand's northeastern region.
