House built c. 1900 as part of African-American neighborhood just beyond the city limits of Falls Church. Condemnded in 2002. Without getting worked up about it, I note that the half second story was typical of rural architecture in Virginia.
May, 2000: New owners demolished the Smith House just west of Vienna.
1999: an abandoned house with German framing across from the Herndon railroad station was torn down.
1999: a large frame house which backed to the trail just east of Vienna's Fresh Fields/Whole Food Markets was torn down
