Hi I am Nilim Kumar Das. Currently working as Software Test Engineer for Perot System, a US based IT services and Infrastructure Solutions company. I come from the city of Guwahati though I originally belong to the town of Nalbari. I am basically a fun loving person with some sense of humor too. I have a strong determination and enthusiasm. But I am very shy by nature. But among friends, I am a very energetic and cheerful person. I am the kind of person who does not expect much from others or from life, so that every new thing comes as a pleasant surprise. I have lot of dreams and I can work hard to any extent to achieve them. The thing I hate most is people neglecting me or my place.
My parents, an elder brother and a sister (my sister and I are twins) constitute my family. My father is a bank manager by profession working for Central Bank of India and my mother is a home maker. My brother works as a reservation officer serving for Indian Railways. My sister is has completed her BA degree in Education from Guwahati University and has now enrolled for the GNIIT (equivalent to BCA) course at NIIT. We reside at Chandan Nagar of VIP Road, near the Six Mile area in Guwahati. We came to reside at this place in November 2003.
MY INTERESTS:
As a computer engineering
student I have had to take interest in few of the subjects. Few areas where I
take interests are: programming, database management systems, soft ware
engineering, cryptography, web designing and little bit of networking. The
various projects done by me are:
(i) "Phone Book Application" in C language. (It is basically a digital phone
book),
(ii) "Automated Electricity Billing System" designed in Java and MS Access as back end (an
application for online electricity bill checking and payment system),
(iii) "Securing Data over Computer Networks" in PHP, HTML using Apache web server
and MySQL. ( designed user interface for sending and receiving data and
devised a cryptographic algorithm for securing data).
(iv)"E-Life Card", a RFID based electronic multipurpose card that can act as Identity card, PAN card, Driving license, Passport and entry/exit/access card simultaneously. This card system was developed using VB6, MS SQLserver 2005 and Photoshop.
All the projects were done in a group of three students except for the third one which was an individual effort.
MY FUTURE AMBITIONS:
As for my future plans, now I visualize myself working for a company for two years and get some hands on experience. I don't intend to stay in this field for long. I want to do an MBA and start my own business. After that Gods knows and lets see where time takes me to till then.
