Reyes majored in folklore and mythology at Brown University where she earned her bachelors and masters degrees in four years. Reyes then transfered to the New York City field office, where she investigated the kidnapping Doggett's son Luke. In 1999, she transferred to the New Orleans field office. She remained there until Doggett asked her to help him out with his investigation into Mulder's abduction. Scully and Reyes didn't get along at first, but they have become friends. She was there for Scully when she gave birth to her son. Reyes has stayed in DC and was assigned to help Doggett on The X-Files. Reyes also helped Mulder escape from prison when he was tried for murder.
