| The St. Luke's Luther League hosted a terrific fund raising event on May 17
for the benefit of a cancer patient whose insurance doesn't cover all of the needed treatments. More than 100 people attended two '4 star' events. The young people planned and served a sumptuous homemade spaghetti dinner with all of the trimmings and a fabulous dessert table with cakes, cookies, and baked goods galore. The dinner was coupled with a Chinese auction. Our hats go off to Shay Christiansen for organizing, shopping and preparing the dinner. She received much assistance from Pastor and Sally Baudler, John and Joan Buchner, Diana Pesale, and Donna Barnett. We are grateful to our Luther Leaguers for their ministry and diligence in hosting this project and helping with the set up, serving, and clean up. Our gratitude and appreciation to Lynn Metcalf for masterfully handling the ticket sales, as well as to all those who participated by joining us for dinner as well as contributing to the Chinese auction. Most of all, we thank God for His blessings and for giving us this special day to share our time and love with one another for another. At last count the amount raised was approximately $800 which we will seek to have matched by Thrivent Insurance.
