Osborne House
This landmark is found about half a mile inland from the North Coast of the Isle of Wight, East of Cowes and overlooking Osborne bay.

This Large Italian style house was located to obtain good views across the Solent.  Its twin towers are prominent, the one on the left contains a clock and was designed to look like a Italian bell tower (campanile).  The right hand tower is on top of the Royal Apartments.

The house was designed by the builder Thomas Cubbit in a simple classical style he previously used in developing parts of London such as Belgravia and Bloomsbury. Osborne house is built as a large version of his terrace houses.
